The focal theme of the MP insignia was inspired by Edward Bulwer-Lytton's classic in his Richelieu play: “Beneath the rule of men entirely great, the pen is mightier than the sword.” Indeed, through exchange of ideas and constructive debates, violence and war should have no place in humanity. However, the precondition advocated in the quote is the biggest challenge of all: great minds and conscious must reign.

That is why, a dove holding an olive branch is placed at the head of the hilt. It symbolizes universal peace and harmony that have been craved, fought, and destroyed throughout civilizations. It has been a defiant struggle to establish and maintain peace and thus the sword. On a personal note, the sword also captures an element of a gallant archangel St. Michael that drew his sword to defeat evil.

The tip of the sword is nonetheless a fountain pen. It signifies a battle of ideas, thoughts, and concepts through writings, discussions, and debates all the things that can be mightier than sword.

MichaelPutra.com is a website built upon the MP insignia. It promotes exchanges of ideas and dissemination of thoughts, no matter how simple or ridiculous they are.

Distinct from its neighbors, the Passage collection presented contemplations in form of brief sentences that ponder daily reflections as well as special occasions.
